Follow these cues to master proper technique and stay safe through every rep.

  1. Step 1Setup
    • Adjust the machine seat height so that your knees are aligned with the pivot point of the machine.
    • Sit down on the machine with your back against the pad and your feet flat on the floor.
  2. Step 2Adjust the Machine
    • Set the weight on the machine according to your fitness level.
    • Ensure that the handles are positioned at a comfortable height for your hands.
  3. Step 3Position Your Body
    • Sit upright with your core engaged and shoulders relaxed.
    • Grip the handles firmly with both hands, ensuring your elbows are bent at a 90-degree angle.
  4. Step 4Start the Twist
    • Begin by twisting your torso to one side while keeping your hips and legs stable.
    • Focus on using your core muscles to initiate the movement.
  5. Step 5Complete the Twist
    • Continue to twist until you feel a comfortable stretch in your oblique muscles.
    • Hold the position briefly before returning to the starting position.
  6. Step 6Repeat
    • Perform the twist for the desired number of repetitions on one side before switching to the other side.
    • Maintain control throughout the movement and avoid using momentum.
  7. Step 7Finish the Exercise
    • After completing your reps on both sides, carefully release the handles and sit upright.
    • Take a moment to stretch your core muscles before leaving the machine.
