Step-by-step instructions
Follow these cues to master proper technique and stay safe through every rep.
- Step 1Setup
- Sit in the machine and adjust the back pad so your knees are slightly bent.
- Place the balls of your feet on the foot platform with heels hanging off.
- Select your working weight on the pin stack.
- Step 2Starting Position
- Allow your ankles to dorsiflex fully to feel a deep stretch in the calves.
- Grip the side handles for stability.
- Keep your back flat against the pad.
- Step 3Execution
- Press the platform by extending your ankles, driving through the balls of your feet.
- Squeeze the calves hard at full extension.
- Hold for 1–2 seconds at peak contraction.
- Slowly lower back to the stretched position under control.
- Use a full range of motion on every rep — stretch at the bottom, squeeze at the top.
